Focus
Our focus is to maintain healthy water quality in Iron County lakes and streams primarily through the prevention and control of aquatic invasive species as well as good management of shoreline environments.
Four Pillar Strategy
We have four pillars in our strategy for defining and then executing projects:
-
Awareness: Beyond direct stakeholders in lake and stream water quality, we strive to make the general community, who directly and indirectly value our lakes and streams, aware of problems threatening those values as well as solutions to those problems.
-
Education: We deliver, to beginners and experts, multiple opportunities to gain detailed knowledge and understanding of our local lakes and streams.
-
Technology: We foster implementation of the latest technology used to conserve our local lakes and streams.
-
Cooperation: We are noted for bringing diverse resources together to constructively address local lake and stream projects and concerns.
Organization
We are an all-volunteer organization! We do what we do because we believe in our work and find it worth our time.
ICLSP was incorporated in 2014 as a non-profit, charitable 501c3 corporation, which means your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by tax laws.
With hundreds of members and a dozen people on our board of directors, we have a pool of talent with varied interests which sustains our organization with rich ideas as well as the ability to effectively execute those ideas.
